To portray; to make a picture of, to depict

But no portraits here, I’ll leave portraiture to those that do it well.

And for me as soon as a face gets close to the camera it'll steal the show.

But to portray people on a whole, yes. Often kept small in the frame, belittled by the world we have created. And if there are no people in the picture there is nearly always evidence of people, of the man made.

Good photographs for me are like mini alignments of planets, a set of visual ingredients come together to make up more than the sum of their parts. These alignments are happening all around us, all of the time. The photographers job is to spot the ones that mean something to his or her self, and get a camera on the end of them.
